Question 1

Is GenerateCV free to use?

Accepted Answer

Resume building and PDF/DOCX export are free. Pro Passes are one-time purchases that expire automatically — nothing to cancel. CareerAgent is an optional monthly subscription you can cancel anytime. See the pricing page for exactly what's included.

Question 2

How does the AI resume builder work?

Accepted Answer

Our AI engages you in a natural conversation to gather information about your experience, skills, and goals. It then structures this into a professional, ATS-optimized resume format, suggesting improvements along the way.

Question 3

Can I export my resume to different formats?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can export as PDF (recommended for job applications), Word (.docx), or plain text. Every export keeps a selectable text layer, so applicant tracking systems can read what you wrote — that's verified by our tests.

Question 4

What makes a resume 'ATS-optimized'?

Accepted Answer

ATS software parses, stores and ranks applications — it rarely auto-rejects them. What matters is that your file has a clean, selectable text layer, standard section headings, and the terms the posting actually asks for, so recruiters searching inside the system can find you. Our checker compares your resume against a specific job description and shows the missing requirements explicitly.

Question 5

Is my data secure?

Accepted Answer

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We never sell your information. Email support and we delete your account and data.

Question 6

Can I create multiple resumes?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can create and save multiple resume versions tailored to different job applications. This is especially useful when applying to different industries or roles.
